The French province of Franche-Comte lays out of the wide streams of tourists. Perhaps there are no sights, which are constantly on hearsay in the world. But even if they are not on hearsay, they are many and they are very unique. All tourists routes in this province may be divided, very conditionally, in two categories. There are, indeed, remarkable historic monuments and almost untouched corners of nature, unique for recreation and sports. Historical monuments, including castles, fortresses, historic buildings, have the imprint of centuries of struggle for the territories between France and Germany. A unique natural conditions and attractions - clean, unsimilar one to the other rivers, lakes, mountains (notably the Jura), protected forests and national parks, offer uncomparable opportunities for outdoor recreation, sports and natural tourism. True, going to Franche-Comte resorts in winter, bear in mind that its mountains are not the most high and steep in France, but for the beginner skiers and snowboarders you’ll not find a better place.
